Characteristics and scope of application

440F stainless steel is a steel grade with improved machinability than 440C. 440F stainless steel is used for automatic lathes.

Hardness: annealing, ≤269HB; quenching and tempering, ≥58HV

 

Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure

Heat treatment specifications: 1) annealing, slow cooling at 800 ～ 920 ℃; 2) quenching, oil cooling at 1010 ～ 1070 ℃; 3) tempering, rapid cooling at 100 ～ 180 ℃.

Metallographic structure: the organization is characterized by martensite type.

 

delivery status

Generally, it is delivered in a heat-treated state, and the type of heat treatment is specified in the contract; if it is not specified, it is delivered in a non-heat-treated state.
