● Characteristics and scope of application:

440A stainless steel is hard in the hardened state, but tougher than 440B and 440C. Used as cutting tools, measuring tools, bearings. 440A stainless steel has high strength parts resistant to nitric acid and organic acids. Cellars and equipment

● Mechanical properties:

Hardness: annealing, ≤ 255HB; quenching and tempering, ≥ 54HRC

 

● Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure:

Heat treatment specifications: 1) annealing, slow cooling at 800 ～ 920 ℃; 2) quenching, oil cooling at 1010 ～ 1070 ℃; 3) tempering, rapid cooling at 100 ～ 180 ℃.

Metallographic structure: the organization is characterized by martensite type.

 

● Delivery status:

Generally, it is delivered in a heat-treated state, and the type of heat treatment is specified in the contract; if it is not specified, it is delivered in a non-heat-treated state.
