S32205 (F60, 00Cr23Ni5Mo3N) Duplex Stainless Steel Overview:

S32205 (F60, 00Cr23Ni5Mo3N) duplex steel is a new product successfully researched and developed in 2000. 2205 duplex steel is a nitrogen-added duplex stainless steel (referred to as 2205 duplex steel). S32205 duplex steel is made of 21% chromium. Compound stainless steel composed of 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. At present, domestic S32205 duplex steel products include welded pipes, seamless pipes, steel plates, bars, forgings, and strips. The early duplex stainless steels can withstand moderate strength uniform corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking, but when used under welding conditions, their performance will be greatly reduced. In order to improve this situation, nitrogen was added to the S32205 duplex steel, which not only increased the corrosion resistance, but also used well in welding. It has high strength, good impact toughness, and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion.

The yield strength of S32205 duplex steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more cost-effective than 316,317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for use in the -50 ° F / + 600 ° F temperature range. Applications outside this temperature range can also be considered for this alloy, but have some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures. Due to the special performance characteristics of S32205 duplex steel, it has a wide range of applications. It is by far the most widely used grade in duplex steel.

With medium to high strength and good resistance to ordinary corrosion / stress, corrosion / cracking. Applications include pumps, valves, flanges and piping systems that are widely used in the oil and gas, chemical, power and brewing industries.
