● Characteristics and scope of application:

8Cr17 stainless steel is harder than 7Cr17 and tougher than 11Cr17 in the hardened state. Used as cutting tools and valves.

 

● Chemical composition:

● Mechanical properties:

Hardness: annealing, ≤ 255HB; quenching and tempering, ≥ 56HRC

 

● Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure:

Heat treatment specifications: 1) annealing, slow cooling at 800 ～ 920 ℃; 2) quenching, oil cooling at 1010 ～ 1070 ℃; 3) tempering, rapid cooling at 100 ～ 180 ℃.

Metallographic structure: the organization is characterized by martensite type.

 

● Delivery status:

Generally, it is delivered in a heat-treated state, and the type of heat treatment is specified in the contract; if it is not specified, it is delivered in a non-heat-treated state.
