Incoloy 800 Alloy Overview

The Cr content in the 800 alloy is usually 15-25%, the nickel content is 30-45%, and it contains a small amount of aluminum and titanium. 800 alloy is in the single austenite region after rapid cooling from high temperature, so the use state is a single austenite structure. Hafnium alloy has a high chromium content and sufficient nickel content, so it has high high temperature corrosion resistance, and is widely used in industry.

It has excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance in chloride, low-concentration NaOH aqueous solution and high temperature and high pressure water, so it is used to make equipment resistant to stress corrosion cracking.

Incoloy800's corrosion resistance and corrosion resistance are better than general austenitic stainless steel, and also better than Incolo 600 alloy. In manufacturing corrosion stress cracking equipment, it is also better than Incolo 600 and Monel 400 alloy.

Thermal processing

1. The temperature range is 1200 ℃ ~ 950 , and the cooling method is water quenching or rapid air cooling.

2. In order to obtain the best performance and creep resistance, solution treatment should be performed after hot processing.

3. The material can be directly fed into a furnace that has been heated to 1200 ° C, and it can be quickly released after holding for a sufficient period of time, and thermal processing is performed within the specified temperature range. When the material temperature drops below the hot working temperature, reheating is required.

 

Cold working

1. The work hardening rate is greater than austenitic stainless steel, so the processing equipment needs to be selected. Cold-worked materials should be in the solution heat-treated state, and intermediate annealing should be performed when the amount of cold work is large.

2. If the cold working volume is greater than 10%, a second solid solution treatment is required for the workpiece.

 

Incoloy800 welding process

Suitable for welding with the same materials or other metals using any traditional welding process, such as tungsten electrode inert gas shielded welding, plasma arc welding, manual sub-arc welding, metal extremely inert gas shielded welding, melting extremely inert gas shielded welding, of which pulsed arc welding Is the preferred option. If manual arc welding is used, (Ar + He + H2 + CO2) is recommended as the shielding gas.
