022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual-phase steel is a new product successfully researched and developed in 2000. 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual-phase steel is a nitrogen-added dual-phase stainless steel (referred to as 2205 dual-phase steel). 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual-phase steel is made of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5. At present domestic 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual-phase steel products include welded pipes, seamless pipes, steel plates, bars, forgings, strips and so on. The early duplex stainless steels can withstand moderate strength uniform corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking, but when used under welding conditions, their performance will be greatly reduced. In order to improve this situation, nitrogen was added to 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual-phase steel, which not only increased the corrosion resistance, but also used well in welding. It has high strength, good impact toughness, and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion.

The yield strength of 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N duplex steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more cost-effective than 316,317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for use in the -50 ° F / + 600 ° F temperature range. Applications outside this temperature range can also be considered for this alloy, but have some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures. Due to the special performance characteristics of 022Cr19Ni5Mo3Si2N dual phase steel, it has a wide range of applications, and it is by far the most widely used grade in dual phase steel.
